Driving Directions to The Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden: From Miami: Take US 1 South, to about mile marker 5. Once you reach the stoplight at the intersection of US1 and College Road, take a right onto College Rd. (If you go over the Cow Key Bridge on US 1, you’ve gone too far). Take another right at the Garden entrance, then follow the signs to parking. From South and West: Turn onto US 1 North. Immediately after crossing the Cow Key bridge from Key West onto Stock Island, take the first left onto College Road; take another right at the Garden entrance, then follow the signs to parking.

Driving Directions to The Key West Garden Club at West Martello Tower: From Miami: Take US 1 South to Key West. When you reach the island, bear right and stay on US 1; the street name will change from Roosevelt Avenue to Truman Avenue. Turn Left at the light on White Street and go all the way to the end. At the four-way stop sign, turn right onto Atlantic Boulevard. The West Martello Tower will be on the left, ocean side of the street.

Driving Directions to the Fort Zachary Taylor State Park: From Miami: Take US 1 South to Key West. When you reach the island, bear right and stay on U.S. 1; the street name will change from Roosevelt Avenue to Truman Avenue. Turn right at the light on Duval Street. After about 6 blocks, turn left onto Southard Street. Drive three blocks and look for signs to Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park.

Flying: You can fly to Miami or Ft. Lauderdale and drive to Key West. The drive will take approximately 4 to 5 hours respectively. You can also fly directly into Key West and rent a car or take a cab to the park.

Getting around once you’re here:

  • Key West has all major car rental companies.
  • Renting a bicycle is a great way to get around Key West. The cost is $10/day. There are many bike rental storesshops throughout the island.
  • Scooter of electric car rentals run from $40-$80/day.
