Thomas Lendvai

Working directly in the environment, the installation work of Thomas Lendvai creates a simple geometric plane bisecting space to highlight the relationship between the environment and the viewer.  Lendvai is interested in the phenomenology of spatial relationships and their impact on viewers as they walk through and around his work.  Also important is the way the piece interacts with the elements:  wind, rain and sun.

Lendvai received his MFA from the School of Visual Arts, NY, and has exhibited in the US and Japan.  In 2003, he was awarded a Manhattan Community Arts Foundation Grant and was featured in The New Yorker in February 2005.  He lives in Brooklyn, NY.
