Christine A. Brundige
A former resident of Key West, Gainesville artist Christine Brundige already had a feel for the scents, colors and salt air of the tropics that influenced her piece Shelter Space 2.
After completing an impressive course of study that took her from Colorado to Florida, New Mexico and Mexico, she has taken a keen interest in shelters as one of the basic human needs. As an art educator, she is especially interested in the shelter spaces created by young minds. She also references her interest in shrines, especially those created in Mexico, Cuba and the American Southwest. Lastly, she desires, "to imbue each piece with feminine energy - a constant buoying force in all that I do."
