Medlock’s intent is to create in his works the actuality
of a “sanctified place.” He served as a Professor
of Art at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh for nine years
where he taught Design, Sculpture, Art as Environment, Park
Design, Introduction to Architectural Studies and History
of Modern Sculpture. He has been making environments as art
since the mid-1970s. Many of his spaces allow people to interact
with the structure of the work and with each other. Medlock
lives in Miami, Florida.
