Timothy Esterheld served in the military during Operation
“Enduring Freedom” in Iraq. This experience
has profoundly moved him and has given his work a social
message. This piece is meant to interact with the sun, cast
long shadows and be part of the rugged environment. He writes,
“Soldiers…are up way before the sun comes up
and long after it goes down. I want [this piece] to interact
with the sun to show this intense work ethic.”
