Native Key Wester Debra Yates is well known for her abstract
paintings, works on paper and murals, which are in many private
collections and public venues. She incorporates metal or copper
or tile into her two-dimensional work, which leads her naturally
to create sculpture. She writes, “My [work] creates
movement through the use of colors and shapes.” Noted
artist A.D. Tinkham writes, “The strength of Yates’s
work is the compositional balance achieved through a strong
sense of the weight of color and shape.” |
