Karley Klopfenstein is a new transplant to Key West from
Richmond, Virginia where she attended graduate school for
sculpture. Her love of textiles has taken many forms, including
knitted architecture and mountains of thread. She writes,
“First, I complete the entire piece in my head, and
then explore the materials. They usually take me in a different
direction, and it’s these diversions that then become
important to me.” She has a great fondness for visual
puns.
