Helen Harrison got her training in wood by building (with
her husband) a 38’ boat that was her home for eleven
years. After settling in Key West she opened Harrison Galley
to display her beautifully finished sculptures that are
made from natural, native plants. She writes, “I chose
materials taking into account strength, shape, flexibility
and availability: fibrous palm frond, calabash [gourds]
and stone allow me to incorporate color with my overlying
passion for wood.”
Helen has received many honors and awards for her work.
